My name is Erica Hernandez and I am dedicating this blog to the Black and Hispanic Youth Leadership Development Programs at the American Red Cross. For the past two years I have volunteered with the programs and watched as they have molded and changed many young lives. I hope to advocate the power of these programs as they create future leaders and the chance for transformational change.

In 1984, Tutu became the second South African to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Tutu was elected and ordained the first black South African Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town.
